Describing herself as an author by accident, following on from her forty-five years as a nurse, midwife, health visitor, and manager in the NHS.

Janine is a clinician that always asked why, how, and who? Which at times got her into deep water, however these energies were channelled into innovative inquiry.

Which has seen her embrace the many accolades she has achieved. Now, in advisory and advocacy speaker roles with institutions, and events she is advocating for best care practices for mothers who have surgical deliveries.

Janine believes her development is born out of the frustration, when as a clinician, best practice as an overworked and under resourced part of maternity workforce, often found her in situations where safety becomes paramount, and prevention drove her to what we can do as clinicians to overcome this hurdle in the care we need to give. Both to ourselves, and the families in our care.
